Offshore Europe, in Aberdeen, UK, is one of the biggest events in the oil and gas calendar. It's a broad-reaching event, covering pretty most every aspect of the industry. Expect to see all of the big name E&P and service companies, especially those with interests in the North Sea. Held bi-annually in odd-numbered years, OE has become Aberdeen’s most well-known exhibition and conference.

Launching in 2017 will be a special decommissioning zone, supported by Decom North Sea.

The facts:

1500 exhibitors
63000 visitors
100+ keynote and techincal conference sessions
34 international pavilions

Top tip for visitors

The Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Business Breakfast (usually held on the first morning of the event), is usually very well attended and the speakers are excellent. Located just across the road from the main event, it's on from 7am - 9am. Get in some early networking and get to OE before the traffic!

Top tip for exhibitors

Aberdeen is the perfect size for hosting additional events off-site as the city centre is close to the exhibition grounds and once you're in the city, everything is really close. Events and stunts in public places can pull a large and relevant audience. If you want to hold a private event book early as good bars & venues will be snapped up fast.

Top tip for media

Communications can be a bit sketchy so use the press room or head out of the event if you've got tight deadlines to meet. There's a cafe across the road in the Hub building that might be an option.

Top travel tip

If you're travelling between the AECC and the city centre, use the Offshore Europe bus service to get there and back. Public transport isn't idea and the car parks are busy, plus there's a charge. The bus has loads of city stops and is pretty frequent too.
